Business Solutions Director at Ledgent Finance & Accounting
A fast-growing retail company headquartered in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking a detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end close, and contributing to financial process improvements as the organization continues to scale.
Base pay range $85,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with GAAP.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses to provide insights to leadership.
Oversee inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis, and retail margin reporting.
Review and reconcile sales reports across POS systems, e‑commerce channels, and retail locations.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, providing financial modeling and analytical support.
Support external audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring proper documentation.
Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance accounting processes, internal controls, and automation.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Operations, FP&A, Merchandising, and Supply Chain to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
3‑5+ years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to retail, consumer goods, or multi‑location environments.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and core accounting principles.
Advanced proficiency with Excel; experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) highly preferred.
Experience with POS, e‑commerce, and inventory systems a plus.
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
