Responsibilities

Assist with month‑end closing activities, including general ledger and journal entries. Partner with outside tax firm on 1099 preparation and deliverables. Collect and monitor W9s and insurance certificates. Compile sales tax reports and payment for filing. Utilize expense software to work with employees on credit card transactions and employee expenses to post to accounting software. Enter payables into accounting software. Process and post all company debt payments. Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy. Undertake additional responsibilities as they arise within the accounting department. Process hourly and salaried payroll and support related functions including union reports, benefit billing reconciliation, and GL posting. Assist with Employee Retirement Plan between the company and external party. Maintain payroll system accuracy (employee records, withholdings, deductions, union contract rates, etc.). Identify payroll process improvements and reduce manual work. Requirements

Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) is a must for the role of Staff Accountant. Bachelor’s degree in accounting is highly preferred. The candidate should have a thorough understanding and work experience with the general ledger. The candidate must have experience in creating and managing journal entries. The candidate must be capable of handling month‑end close activities. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 1‑3 years of experience in Accounting or Finance Department. Seniority level: Entry level. Employment type: Full‑time. Job function: Accounting/Auditing and Finance. Industry: Machinery Manufacturing.
