Business Development Manager | Metric Geo | General Contractor The Estimator is responsible for managing the full estimating process—from planning through procurement—across all project scopes. This includes preparing estimates, managing budgets, coordinating bid coverage, and overseeing procurement throughout preconstruction and construction. Estimates range from conceptual budgets to detailed lump-sum bids.
Compensation may vary based on experience and qualifications and may factor in benefits and bonus opportunities.
Essential Functions
Lead the full estimation process and prepare client-facing submissions
Finalize trade contracts through comprehensive procurement
Communicate effectively throughout all project phases
Develop, review, and expand trade scopes of work
Solicit, evaluate, and secure trade contractor proposals
Ensure compliance with labor, MWBE, and project requirements
Prepare detailed cost estimates and quantity takeoffs
Conduct trade contractor prequalification
Maintain accurate cost data and resources
Utilize estimating and procurement software
Delegate tasks and mentor estimating team members
Represent the company professionally and uphold organizational values

Day in the Life Typical responsibilities include reviewing project designs, developing scopes and estimates, coordinating with trade contractors, and participating in project meetings to discuss cost, constructability, and design impacts.
Qualifications
Solid understanding of construction trades, materials, and regulations
Proficiency in MS Office
Experience with Adobe, PlanGrid, and AutoCAD
Preferred Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
7+ years of estimating experience
Examples of preconstruction work and successful competitive bids
Schedule Full-time, exempt
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
(Occasional evenings or weekends as needed)
