Summary The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality assurance within our automotive operations. This role ensures that all vehicles, processes, and facilities meet OEM, regulatory, and internal standards. They will lead initiatives that prevent defects, reduce risk, and protect team members, ensuring that operational excellence and workplace safety are achieved.
Responsibilities
Manage the daily activities of the Quality Inspectors to ensure that all activities are being performed correctly and safely
To include: Performances, attendance, team member communications, and any other company related information and events that are required
Perform audits to ensure inspectors and VPC departments are performing within standards
Initiate performance reviews for Glovis team members
Ensures all QC documentation is within ISO guidelines
Monitor absences and manage headcount to support responsibilities
Assist in the development and implementation of quality measurement tools/metrics and report performance
Provide the necessary communications to motivate and manage quality team members
Be aware and ensure that all Team Members are performing in such a manner to meet all Customer and Companies policies and requirements
Conduct daily Quality meeting with Team Members
Track port quality trends and initiate Continuous Improvement activities as required
Support all departments in their training activities and offer assistance in preparations and securing training documents as required for ISO
Support Operations in any urgent task as requested by Quality Control Manager
Offer opinions and suggestions to improve operations efficiency and Team Member morale
Support corrective actions development for addressing customer and Internal issues
Monitor team members’ performance and schedule re‑training as required
Monitor and enforce quality related policies, procedures, and expectations
Support all operations with ISO documentation and Continuous Improvement initiatives
Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
Some exposure to ISO 9000 Required
Must have good color vision Required
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace Required
Excellent written and oral communication skills Required
Ability to communicate clear and concise instructions and effectively present information and respond to questions Required
Must be willing and able to cross‑train in other departmental areas as needed Required
Requires flexibility with schedule including break times as well as working extended hours, weekends, and holidays Required
Ability to manage priorities and strong organizational, problem‑solving, and analytical skills Required
Ability to drive both automatic and straight shift vehicles Required
Must be able to work with minimal supervision, work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and have strong interpersonal skills Required
Ability to work cross functionally with the ability to conduct positive interaction communication, skills and strengths Required
Must have a general knowledge of automobile components Required
Education & Experience
High School Diploma/G.E.D Required
Associates or higher Preferred
Must hold a valid state‑issued driver's license without restrictions Required
2 years of experience in Quality Control Required
1 – 3 years of leadership and/or supervisory experience Required
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
Lift up to 20lbs
