Supervisor EVS Evening/Nights

Full‑time, salaried/exempt position. Evening shift 3pm‑11:30pm and overnight shift 11pm‑7:30am. Both shifts require rotating weekends and holidays. Shift times may vary. Weekend shift differential $1/hour and 18% night shift differential.
Position Summary This position supervises operational, technical, and personnel activities associated with Environmental Services. The supervisor manages department use of labor, supplies, vendors, and inventory while ensuring optimal service to all clinical and non‑clinical departments within the hospital/facility.
Core Functions
Supervises all Environmental Services personnel and daily work across campuses, providing service level enhancements, expense control, staffing, and resolution of interdepartmental and personnel issues.
Maintains a competent and motivated staff through selection, scheduling, training, coaching, evaluation, and termination, and maintains personnel records.
Performs daily patient rounding and inspections to assure hospital cleanliness standards, working with infection control to meet all regulations and ensuring staff compliance with safety guidelines.
Schedules special projects, monitors equipment and furniture moves, tracks inventories, and coordinates major housekeeping requests such as construction, event planning, and emergency responses.
Works with patients, nurses, physicians, department leaders and other staff regarding environmental services requests, infection prevention, service resolution opportunities, and other interdepartmental matters.
Provides timely follow‑up and communicates with management of other facilities on best practices.
Makes recommendations, devises plans, and implements departmental policies and procedures in conjunction with leadership, and may perform the functions of the staff.
Internal customers include staff, physicians, patients, visitors, managers, and executives; external customers include patients, visitors, vendors and other company facilities.
Minimum Qualifications Requires at least three years of diversified healthcare or similar institutional Environmental Services experience, with extensive leadership, staff training, customer service and computerized staffing/inventory principles. Must be skilled in floor care maintenance, equipment, chemicals, patient care area cleaning, surgical suite terminal cleaning, hazardous waste procedures and regulations, Standard Precautions and JCAHO standards on Infection Control and Environment of Care. Ability to research, compile reports, and compute basic math is essential. Valid driver’s license and eligibility for company auto insurance may be required.
Employees at behavioral health facilities serve children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at hire and maintain it. Must sign an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of supervisory experience, intermediate word processing, spreadsheet and/or database skills; proven experience in job training, quality and service improvement.
