Special Projects Coordinator

role at the UF Health Precision Health Research Center (PHRC) located in The Villages, FL.

Job Overview The Special Projects Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the center director, overseeing small projects or phases of larger projects for the center. The incumbent will collaborate with community partners, define project scope, develop schedules, and ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to quality standards, UF policies, and best practices.

Responsibilities

Meet with community leaders to determine project expectations and develop project plans, including timelines and milestones.

Conduct project meetings, communicate project status with partners, project team members, vendors, and supervisors, and facilitate meetings to resolve issues.

Establish and maintain relationships with business units and key partner groups to align objectives, secure ongoing buy‑in, and translate center objectives into projects with defined scope, timing, deliverables, resources, and success measures.

Develop work plans, resource plans, project estimates, and status reports as needed based on project size, scope, and expected resource utilization.

Research, analyze, and seek resources for issues that impede project progress; proactively manage and communicate changes in scope, identify potential crises, and devise plans.

Support continuous development of best practices and tools for project management and execution, and conduct post‑project assessments and evaluations.

Perform a variety of duties as assigned by the Director and leadership, including errands, scheduling meetings with industry/community partners, and providing staff coverage as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong business and management skills, judgment, initiative, and ability to exercise considerable judgment and initiative in a fast‑moving environment.

Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.

Experience working with community partners and managing project scope, timelines, and deliverables.

Salary and Benefits Annual Salary: $58,000 – $72,000.
