Shift: Monday-Friday; 8:00 am-5:00 pm (40 hrs./week) with limited nights and weekends.

Job Summary Prevention, Outreach, and Wellness Education Resources (POWER) seeks a Prevention Specialist – Hazing, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), and Gambling. Leveraging best practices in prevention, this position leads the development and implementation of comprehensive hazing prevention efforts while supporting substance misuse prevention and gambling awareness programs to enhance student well‑being.
This role designs and delivers evidence‑informed initiatives aimed at fostering a safer and healthier campus community, emphasizing hazing prevention, alcohol and drug education, gambling awareness, and harm reduction. The Prevention Specialist engages the campus community through trainings, presentations, awareness campaigns, and events, coordinating with campus partners to ensure compliance with institutional policies, state and federal regulations, and the Stop Campus Hazing Act.
Key Responsibilities
Lead hazing prevention initiatives.
Ensure bystander intervention strategies are integrated across prevention efforts.
Support compliance and reporting requirements.
Develop tailored support to meet student needs.
Collaborate with campus partners to ensure policy compliance.
Design and deliver evidence‑based training and educational programs.
Qualifications
Master’s degree (MA) in a relevant field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in prevention, outreach, or wellness education.
Strong understanding of evidence-based prevention and restorative practices.
Excellent communication and public‑speaking skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
No supervisory responsibilities.
