Project Manager - Water
Location: Ridgeland, Mississippi
Garver is seeking a
Project Manager
to join our Southeast Water Team in
Ridgeland, Mississippi
working on water infrastructure and facilities projects. The Project Manager will manage projects consisting of design reports, studies, technical memoranda, detailed plans, and specifications. The Project Manager must be capable of working closely with clients to ensure their expectations of services are exceeded.
Responsibilities
Design and manage a variety of projects related to water conveyance and distribution, including pump stations and storage facilities
Wastewater conveyance and collection, including lift stations and force mains
Pipeline inspection and rehabilitation
Water and wastewater master planning
Water and wastewater treatment facilities
Coordinate with other support disciplines, regulating agencies, and ensure quality assurance and quality control
Assist the Southeast Region Business Team Leader in managing and mentoring internal staff, coordinating schedules, monitoring budgets, and ensuring the delivery of quality products that adhere to Garver standardization
Participate in client meetings and industry conferences on behalf of Garver
Conduct periodic travel for projects, conferences, marketing, and other duties
Core Capabilities
Be technically competent with water or wastewater engineering and civil engineering
Manage scope, budget, and schedule for a team of multi-disciplined engineers, design engineers, and CAD technicians
Manage multiple projects concurrently
Manage project budgets and develop detailed project instructions, scope of work, level of effort, and associated man‑hour estimates
Be responsible for time management and work product quality
Keep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projects
Conduct written and oral project reporting for clients and Team Leader(s)
Prepare and execute Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans
Lead internal and external project workshops
Engage in continuing education and learning based on project needs
Conduct construction engineering administration management for local projects (excluding construction observation)
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited program
At least 4 years of similar technical experience
Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE)
Experience in responsible charge of designs, including detailed plans and specifications, for water and wastewater projects
Strong knowledge base of engineering principals related to water and wastewater infrastructure and/or facility projects
Basic understanding of multi-disciplined practices required for the implementation of water/wastewater infrastructure improvements
Strong communication skills
Passionate about client service and the water industry
Strong work ethic
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, and Outlook
