The Mold Preventive Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing and executing preventive maintenance, repairs, and conversions of injection molding tools and fixtures. This role requires advanced skills in precision machining and bench operations to ensure molds and fixtures meet high‑quality standards and remain fully operational. Conduct comprehensive mold check‑in processes, ensuring compliance with established mold build guidelines and verifying that molds meet required specifications before production. Manage and oversee mold preventive maintenance processes, coordinating with production teams and maintaining detailed records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and mold conditions. Lead and perform mold conversions according to production schedules, ensuring seamless transitions between molds and addressing any issues that may arise during the conversion process. Disassemble, inspect, and conduct preventive maintenance on molds, fixtures, and related components, ensuring all parts are in good working condition and reassemble molds to production‑ready status. Perform more advanced mold repairs, including machining, grinding, polishing, and adjusting mold fit, ensuring that molds are functioning at optimal levels for production runs. Troubleshoot and resolve moderate mold issues in a timely manner, applying advanced techniques to minimize downtime and ensure consistent product quality. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (engineering, production, etc.) to ensure mold readiness, provide input on mold design improvements, and suggest enhancements for manufacturing processes. Maintain mold maintenance and repair records, ensuring accurate documentation of work performed, parts replaced, and preventive measures taken to improve mold longevity. Maintain a focus on safety, adhering to company policies and best practices while proactively addressing potential hazards. Perform all other duties as assigned. Skills / Competencies
Intermediate verbal and written communication skills Ability to follow and interpret written and verbal work directions. Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring precision and accuracy in all aspects of work. Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities efficiently. Qualifications (Required)
Education: High School Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience. Physical Requirements
Must be able to push / pull objects up to 30 pounds. Must have the dexterity to handle small objects. Must be able to work in noisy environments.
