What You Will Do
Process bi-weekly Canadian payroll for approximately 500 associates, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Review and verify time and attendance data exported from the timekeeping system, addressing discrepancies with managers.
Manage new hire setups, terminations, and first-pay payouts in the payroll system.
Maintain strong knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations, holidays, and benefits, including the equivalent of 401(k) plans.
Collaborate closely with the payroll lead and HR team, reporting directly to a remote supervisor.
Communicate effectively with internal customers and managers to resolve payroll issues with professionalism and tact.
Generate and distribute payroll-related reports to finance and HR departments, supporting general ledger reconciliation.
Participate in ongoing training and development, including ADP webinars and seminars, to stay current with payroll systems and compliance.
HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED
Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll, preferably with a strong foundation in Canadian payroll processes
Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now payroll system is highly preferred; experience with other payroll systems like Workday may be considered if accompanied by strong payroll knowledge
Solid understanding of Canadian payroll regulations, including holidays, benefits, and pension equivalents to 401(k)
Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately process payroll for approximately 500 employees
Excellent internal customer service skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with managers, HR, and finance teams
Ability to review and analyze payroll reports, identify discrepancies, and coordinate with management to resolve issues
Willingness to be flexible with work location, including initial on-site presence and potential remote work arrangements
