Security Operations Analyst
Join Paramount’s technology team as a Security Operations Analyst. Paramount is a global media and entertainment company that creates premium content and experiences for audiences worldwide. The Technology department supports our content business by delivering a high‑quality viewing experience, system infrastructure, and innovative employee collaboration tools.
Primary Responsibilities
Analyze diverse data sources to identify past and potential security incidents.
Improve detection capabilities by optimizing security tools (SIEM, SOAR, EDR, firewalls, network and email security).
Monitor and remediate email security events.
Assess emerging threats—threat actors, tactics, tools, and procedures—and recommend countermeasures.
Contribute to threat hunting and proactive vulnerability identification within the organization.
Develop and improve SOC processes and procedures.
Participate in post‑incident reviews and suggest improvements.
Basic Qualifications
1–2 years of experience in a cyber incident response team (CIRT).
Deep technical understanding of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, firewalls, and network/email security tools across enterprise and cloud architectures.
Additional Qualifications
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell.
Operating system proficiency: Windows, Mac, Linux.
Self‑starter, able to work independently and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication; able to distill technical information for diverse audiences.
Experience in a security operations center, red team or blue team; ability to think like both attacker and defender.
Familiar with cyber threat landscape, malware techniques, and industry lexicon.
Knowledge of digital forensics and data privacy laws.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CYSA+, GCFA, or equivalent entry‑level cyber certifications.
Additional Information Hiring Salary Range: $85,000 – $100,000 (NYC, CA, CO, WA, and most other geographies). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability coverage, tuition assistance, and PTO.
