Job Summary As a personal banker, you will provide exceptional customer service, sell a wide range of bank products and services, process routine banking transactions, and support the branch manager in achieving quality service and compliance with operational procedures.
Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service and engage customers with friendly and professional service.
Educate customers on bank products and services, cross‑sell various products, and recommend appropriate solutions based on their needs.
Analyze financial needs, maximize sales opportunities, open new accounts, and assist with loan product sales.
Meet customer expectations, achieve service quality standards, and support the sales referral process.
Process all customer transactions using technology such as Teller Scanning Equipment, Cash Recycling, and Cash Dispensing machines; maintain and balance a cash box.
Act as Vault Teller to ensure branch cash adequacy and support currency ordering and distribution.
Participate in community events, CRA initiatives, and other community outreach activities.
Report significant matters and compliance issues to management and maintain knowledge of the Bank’s Code of Conduct.
Required Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to demonstrate products and services to customers.
Exceptional interpersonal customer service skills, attentiveness, and diplomacy with both customers and employees.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills to resolve complex customer issues.
Ability to make sound decisions, manage multiple projects, and balance customer satisfaction with risk management.
Strong organizational skills and high degree of accuracy.
Proficient computer skills.
Required Experience
High School diploma or GED and minimum 1 year of branch banking experience or successful completion of a Valley Retail training program.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, economics, or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Experience
FIS/IBS (Integrated Banking Solutions) experience.
