This is a high-impact support role for a sharp, organized legal assistant who knows commercial real estate finance and thrives in a fast-moving environment. A nationally recognized boutique law firm based in San Diego is hiring a Real Estate Legal Assistant to support attorneys handling sophisticated commercial real estate loan transactions nationwide. The role focuses on preparing and managing loan documentation, coordinating closings, and keeping complex matters moving efficiently for institutional lender clients. They are looking for someone experienced, detail-driven, and collaborative who can juggle multiple priorities while delivering consistently excellent work.
Real Estate Legal Assistant Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and organize commercial real estate finance and loan documents
Assist attorneys with loan closings from start to finish
Review title documents and coordinate with third parties as needed
Manage document packages, deliveries, and transaction materials
Support 1 - 3 attorneys across multiple active matters simultaneously
Maintain accuracy and organization in high-volume, deadline-driven workflows
Communicate professionally with internal teams and external clients
Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented firm environment
Real Estate Legal Assistant Requirements
Several years of experience as a Legal Assistant in commercial real estate finance
Experience supporting attorneys representing financial institutions on sophisticated loan transactions
Direct exposure to large-scale deals, including $100M+ lines of credit
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize urgent requests
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
Paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree is a plus, not required
Must be San Diego-based or already planning a move with local ties
