Mortgage Loan Officer, Texas | Regions Bank Join Regions Bank as a Mortgage Loan Officer in Texas, directing the origination of residential mortgage loans through our branch network.

Job Overview The role involves evaluating loan requests, maintaining customer contacts, structuring compliant loans, and building a detailed marketing plan to acquire and retain business.

Primary Responsibilities

Complete mortgage applications for submission to the loan processing and underwriting departments.

Evaluate loan requests, analyze financial data, and determine qualification of collateral and customer credit history.

Maintain contact with loan customers, communicating progress and obtaining required documentation.

Structure loans to comply with acceptable lending practices and Federal regulations.

Establish a detailed marketing/business plan including potential and existing loan customers, realtors, builders, developers, etc., and determine the frequency of contact.

Answer customer calls and walk‑in customers to discuss various loan products and qualification information.

Make sales calls to potential or existing customers as per Regions’ marketing plan to develop new business or retain existing business.

Cross‑sell other bank products and services.

Read surveys and appraisals, taking necessary steps to correct encroachments and violations.

Participate in networking through professional, business, and community organizations to promote and market loan products.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.

One (1) year of mortgage lending experience with proven mortgage production.

Abundant experience developing external business via referral partners in the market including realtors, builders, and financial planners.

Preferences

Bachelor's degree.

Prior Mortgage Loan Officer experience.

Skills & Competencies

Good organizational skills.

Knowledge of Mortgage products, systems, terminology, tax requirements, down‑payment assistance programs, etc.

Knowledge of agency and investor regulations and guidelines.

Ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships to deliver high levels of service.

Ability to multi‑task competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Sales acumen.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Position Type Full time

Incentive Pay Plans This commission‑based role offers total compensation ranging from $20,000 to $100,000+ per year, varying by location, performance, and production. The position is eligible for overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
