HR Generalist | Caledonia, MI
Salary Range:
$61,000 - $88,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Caledonia seeking HR Generalists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle recruitment for production, skilled trades, and administrative roles, ensuring a continuous pipeline of qualified talent.
Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management within a manufacturing environment.
Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with federal and state labor laws, including OSHA regulations pertinent to plant operations.
Administer comprehensive onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire orientation with a focus on plant safety and culture.
Process payroll inputs, administer benefits programs, and manage leave requests (FMLA, short-term disability) for a diverse workforce.
Support the development and implementation of training initiatives, particularly those related to safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Manage workers' compensation claims and collaborate with operations to promote a safe working environment and reduce incidents.
Recommended Qualifications
Experience as an HR Generalist within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
In-depth knowledge of federal and state labor laws, including OSHA regulations.
Proven ability in employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
Experience with full-cycle recruitment for production, skilled trades, and operational roles.
Proficiency in HRIS platforms and payroll administration.
Bonus Qualifications
Bilingual proficiency, particularly Spanish.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
Exposure to or experience in unionized environments.
Understanding of OSHA regulations and safety program involvement.
