JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract (J-Tech II). JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments to ready the nation’s war‑fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today’s missions and tomorrow’s global challenges.
Job Summary – Essential Functions and Duties The Senior Network System Administrator will plan, develop, research, design, manufacture, test, integrate, and maintain diverse software, networks, electronic, and IT equipment & systems. Responsibilities include installing software, integrating data‑transport systems in a Linux environment, configuring virtual machines, and scripting with Shell to streamline network test and verification. The role will also involve configuring Juniper switches, performing hardware troubleshooting, and enforcing security policies to support flight testing.
Job Duties
Create hardware/software solutions using Hyper‑V, KVM, VMWare, Docker, Red Hat Linux, and other platforms.
Develop and refine team processes for network architecture design, equipment validation, and configuration standards.
Participate in a multi‑functional engineering team to integrate network hardware, software, and new technologies.
Generate required network topology diagrams, including interfaces, data flows, and system interconnects.
Design and implement high‑speed, resilient, multi‑layer network architectures that meet security and performance guidelines.
Size, install, configure, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
Act as a System Administrator to manage storage solutions, including NAS/SAN systems.
Desired Skills
Strong understanding of broadcast domains and network protocols (TCP/IP, STP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, IGMP, multicast, VPN).
Strong understanding of flight test, telemetry, signal propagation, and frequency spectrum.
Experience working with DARv3, .ch10 file types, and telemetry (highly desired).
Knowledge of antenna theory, including antenna types, radiation patterns, and gain.
Experience with structured cabling design and management (fiber optic and copper installations).
Experience utilizing network analyzers (WireShark, TCPDump) to troubleshoot network issues on a multi‑platform environment.
Knowledge of network security principles, including firewall configuration, tunneling, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and ACLs.
Requirements – Education, Technical, and Work Experience
Must have a bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
Requires at least 12 years of experience in computer system related areas of expertise and broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems.
Must possess specific experience in the maintenance of operating systems and support applications in a centralized and distributed server environment.
Must possess planning/organizing skills and be able to work under deadlines.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Must possess a valid, state‑issued driver’s license.
Must be a U.S. citizen.

Salary The expected salary range for this position is $125,000 to $160,000 annually.
