CMM Programmer | Whitehall, MI Salary Range:

$55,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Develop, write, and optimize CMM inspection programs based on engineering drawings and CAD models.

Interpret complex engineering blueprints, GD&T specifications, and quality standards.

Set up and fixture parts on CMMs, selecting appropriate probes and measurement strategies.

Execute CMM programs, analyze measurement data, and generate comprehensive inspection reports.

Validate CMM programs for accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency, debugging as necessary.

Perform routine calibration checks and basic maintenance of CMM equipment.

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve measurement challenges and improve processes.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).

Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including GD&T.

Solid understanding of metrology principles and measurement techniques.

Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting CMMs.

Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing quality control or inspection environment.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for model manipulation or fixture design.

Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis for quality improvement.

Familiarity with other metrology equipment such as vision systems, laser scanners, or portable CMM arms.

Background in machining or tool & die making processes.
