Air Export Coordinator – Des Plaines, IL (Hybrid)
Our client, a well‑established global freight forwarder located in Des Plaines, IL, is seeking an experienced Air Export Coordinator to join their team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast‑paced logistics environment supporting international air freight operations from booking through final delivery. Salary & Benefits

Coordinate day‑to‑day air export shipments, ensuring compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and international regulations. Book cargo with airlines and negotiate rates as needed. Prepare and process all export documentation including HAWBs/MAWBs, AES filings, and commercial invoices. Arrange cargo pickup, terminal handling, and delivery to airlines or consolidators. Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate updates to customers and internal teams. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding export shipments. Build strong relationships with carriers, vendors, and airline partners. Provide exceptional customer service through timely responses and professional communication. Ensure compliance with TSA, IATA, U.S. Customs, and other global regulations. Maintain accurate files and records for internal and external audits. Review documentation for accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Address shipment delays, holds, or exceptions and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with other departments including warehouse, customs brokerage, and accounting. Support the team with general operations tasks as needed. Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in air export operations within a freight forwarder required. Strong knowledge of air cargo procedures, IATA regulations, and export documentation. Experience with AES filings and TSA Known Shipper requirements. Proficiency with freight forwarding systems (CargoWise, Magaya, etc.) preferred. Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple deadlines. Seniority level
