Pay Range: $20.50 - $21.00 (Depending on years of experience)

Job Description Catholic Charities of Baltimore is currently seeking a Direct Support Professional who will provide quality living support (physical, social, behavioral, career, and personal) to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) living and working in the community.

Work Schedule Monday-Wednesday 7a-3p and Wed-Friday 1p-9p.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Assist Manager of Community Supports with overall operation of the home, including training of new DSPs, attending PCP meetings, monthly paperwork, and some on-call tasks.

Schedule and monitor medical appointments, review MAR, oversee medication ordering and checks.

Complete PCP reviews under guidance of the Manager of Community Supports.

Help ensure the safety and well‑being of clients, and may be deployed to other settings or routes.

Realize duties outside scheduled hours and make site/location changes to provide adequate coverage.

Provide documentation, reports, and diary entries as required.

Education & Experience Requirements

3 years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities.

Valid health certificate to meet funding jurisdiction requirements.

Valid driver’s license (21+ years, 2+ years experience, Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Ability to move/adjust a minimum of 75 pounds, stand for periods, bend, push wheelchairs, provide physical intervention, lift/transfer people.

Hearing and vision within normal range (corrected) to drive safely and communicate with clients.

May be required to work outside of scheduled hours and/or on site changes.

Must drive agency vehicles; required to be at least 21 years old.

Skills & Competencies

Safe driving following traffic rules, ability to secure wheelchairs.

Maintain a safe environment.

Comfortable when clients cannot perform basic life duties.

Understand basic concepts of personal care, housekeeping.

Empathy, compassion, effective written communication.

Basic PC, web browsing, Microsoft Outlook skills preferred.
