Hub Inventory Specialist (HUB Inventory Specialist) is responsible for hub order fulfillment and inventory control. The role requires knowledge of store systems, basic parts knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills. It involves networking with nearby stores, hubs, pdq, and external suppliers for order fulfillment, and may require MVR certification. All training materials and store meetings are mandatory.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for hub operations and resolution of hub orders in a timely manner.
Review hub orders, pull parts, stage product, and finalize paperwork.
Interact with drivers on paperwork, instructions, and related matters.
Engage store‑to‑facility network to determine part sourcing and logistics solutions; collaborate with ordering store when fulfillment is unavailable in the network.
Work with GM, DL, and SSC support to maintain proper inventory mix and levels.
Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, outages, planograms, maxi changes, price changes, front & face updates, and truck lead.
Manage and comply with all hub records and paperwork policies and procedures.
Secondary Responsibilities
Perform additional inventory activities including overstocks, callbacks, and resets.
Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
Assist with front‑room inventory functions, cores, and defects.
Maintain store cleanliness: floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot.
Success Factors
Friendly communication with drivers and store personnel.
Ability to locate and stock parts efficiently.
Safety knowledge and skills while operating inventory systems and store equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand jack).
Proficiency with POS and parts lookup systems.
Essential Job Skills
Competent oral and written communication and basic math computations.
Prior retail experience, including basic merchandising and inventory management.
Ability to drive forklift (if certified) and use hand truck and pallet jack.
Appropriate appearance, manner, and unbiased interaction with the public.
Demonstrated stable work history and performance results.
Flexibility to work short‑notice shifts, nights, and weekends.
Immediate reporting of any company policy or procedure violations to General Manager or District Leader.
Prior Experience and Qualifications
Inventory management experience in a retail environment.
Education & Credentials
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None.
Physical Demands Employee will predominantly walk or stand, lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Use of hands, arms, and feet is required; ability to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl is necessary. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment Work is primarily indoor, with occasional exposure to weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, toxic chemicals, electrical shock risk, explosives, and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
