Patient Service Representative Float Pool at Saint Alphonsus is a full‑time role that supports all SAMG Medical Clinics in the Treasure Valley. The position requires a flexible, adaptable, and growth‑mindset individual comfortable with patient administrative tasks, EPIC record updates, and financial assistance paperwork. Responsibilities

Check in patients and verify appointment details. Collect patient co‑pays, answer telephones, and take accurate messages. Schedule appointments and check insurance eligibility. Update patient information using EPIC. Maintain confidentiality of patient data and comply with HIPAA regulations. Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred). Previous customer service experience required; healthcare experience preferred. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and medical terminology. Process improvement or lean philosophy experience is a plus. Additional Duties

Greet patients immediately and provide a positive customer service experience. Register patients for appointments and complete paperwork. Verify and update existing patient and insurance information. Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient arrival. Inform patients of delays, explain why, and provide anticipated wait time. Collect, record, and communicate patient balances for visit, diagnostic testing, supplies, etc. Maintain knowledge of different payer practices and deductibles. Assist patients with all aspects of financial assistance paperwork. Control credit extended to patients via a payment plan. Maintain business office inventory and equipment and order supplies. Maintain a neat work area including the reception area. Follow Cash Control Policy and Procedure and balance daily financial activities; ensure timely collection of payments at time of service.
