Position Summary The Equipment & Tools Customs Manager is responsible for overseeing all customs activities related to production equipment, tools, and engineering assets. This role ensures strict compliance with U.S. customs regulations and internal customs control policies while driving efficient, accurate, and timely movement of materials to support manufacturing readiness and facility build-out. The ideal candidate has deep experience in customs operations, strong attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate complex shipments across global partners and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage end-to-end customs operations for production equipment, tools, and engineering assets.

Ensure full compliance with U.S. customs regulations, HS code classification, ECCN requirements, and internal customs policies.

Review, validate, and approve all customs documentation including invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading/Air Waybills, and compliance certifications.

Coordinate closely with global suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure accurate scheduling and smooth customs clearance.

Monitor shipment status, resolve customs‑related delays, and manage exceptions for urgent or high‑value imports.

Partner with Manufacturing, Facilities, Industrial Engineering, and Project Teams to align equipment ETAs with construction, line setup, and qualification milestones.

Track customs costs, duties, tariffs, and logistics expenses; support cost optimization and annual budgeting.

Establish and refine customs SOPs, streamline workflows, and drive digitalization and standardization of customs processes.

Lead and mentor the Equipment & Tools Customs team, providing workload planning, training, and performance management.

Prepare customs activity reports, compliance summaries, and operational metrics for leadership review.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field.

7+ years of experience in customs operations, import/export, or logistics; semiconductor or electronics manufacturing experience preferred.

Strong understanding of U.S. customs regulations, HS classification, ECCN, and overall customs compliance requirements.

Proven ability to manage complex shipments and coordinate effectively with global suppliers, brokers, and internal teams.

Excellent communication, vendor management, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP or logistics/customs systems preferred.
