Base pay range
$17.00/hr - $20.00/hr
Responsibilities
Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for front end and pharmacy. Support pharmacy inventory management activities including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns.
Champion On‑Shelf Availability and manage receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in‑store inventory processes. Validate and ensure accuracy of planograms.
Review and coordinate the use of reports and system applications that impact front‑end and pharmacy on‑hand balances and pricing.
Execute and maintain asset protection techniques for front end and pharmacy and file claims for vendor overages, shortages, order errors or damaged goods, including prescription drugs.
Open and close the store in the absence of management, including systems start‑ups, cash handling, and cashier responsibilities, ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day.
Customer Experience
Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
As leader on duty, resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Operations
Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes.
Scan all deliveries while the vendor is in the store, focus on One Box receiving, and take appropriate action for received products.
Verify pharmacy shipments and complete postings for all pharmacy warehouse orders, ABC prescription and OTC orders daily, and other supplier orders.
Complete On‑Shelf Availability (OSA) end‑to‑end process including warehouse and DSD for planogrammed departments.
Complete pharmacy inventory activities under supervision, including recalls, vendor returns, and inventory transfers.
Execute all pricing activities, including price changes, markdowns, and regulatory pricing tasks.
Support front‑end and pharmacy ordering and monitor pharmacy manual orders for excess.
Maintain accurate inventory counts and on‑hand quantities across all departments.
Keep all counters and shelves clean and well merchandised.
Assist in preparation for physical inventory and support day‑of inventory activities.
Handle all point‑of‑sale tasks and complete returns, voids, refunds, and cash drops to safe.
Training & Personal Development
Attend company‑based trainings and complete all e‑learning modules, including safety training requirements.
Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state.
Communications
Serve as a liaison between management and non‑management team members by coaching and developing team capabilities with inventory systems.
When lead on duty, communicate assigned tasks to team members and report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
Basic Qualifications
Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).
Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
“Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multitask and manage execution.
Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing resolution strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, or customer service associate.
Prior experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
