A Shift, Monday - Thursday / 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Hours may vary based on business needs) Salary:
Starting at $60k+ annual Training for this position will take place at W09 (950 W Renwick Rd, Romeoville, IL 60446), but the home location will be determined by the needs of the company. Job Purpose:
This position reports to the Warehouse Manager. You will supervise warehouse operations as required, communicate transitional information from night shift to day shift, manage any staff assigned to the shift including employee performance reviews and disciplinary actions, and oversee all computer entry work and paperwork flow. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assign work assignments for all 2nd shift warehouse staffing, keeping in mind customer specifications and driver departure times to meet delivery schedules. Oversee the loading of inbound/outbound freight according to customer specifications. Supervise local, regional, and OTR drivers, communicate updates and workflow changes. Review deliveries for poor packing and general conditions of materials; alert Customer Service Rep, Warehouse Manager, and, when necessary, COO. Oversee and assign the processing of shipment paperwork, including scanning of BOLs. Ensure all shipments are recorded, verified and accurate against paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments and deliveries. Monitor the quality and accuracy of all shipments according to customer specifications. Ensure that department staff meets each customer’s requirements and that updates are communicated to all staff. Update the Tee Card board and TMW system. Communicate with customers and respond to inquiries; implement necessary actions. Communicate via e‑mail before the end of each shift to ensure a smooth transition of workflow, issues, customer concerns, or maintenance issues. Ensure safety, training and development of employees, drivers and contractors per OSHA and RJW policies. Oversee completion of all computer data entry; check for accuracy and efficiency. Approve shift employee timesheets for payroll, including temps, and monitor overtime hours. Perform daily building checks; notify Warehouse Director of equipment or building problems. Ensure adherence to AIB processes, procedures, and guidelines, including training for food product handling. Complete safety checklists as designated by SOP or policy; issue corrective actions or work orders. Handle accident reporting, care of injured employees, and notify HR and management as required. Perform assigned tasks or other duties as instructed by Warehouse Manager or COO. Additional Responsibilities: Efficiency management skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to lead, motivate and develop associates. Strong core values aligned with RJW, emphasizing safety, accuracy and customer satisfaction. Orientated toward process improvement and willing to work in a fast‑paced “roll up your sleeves” environment. Proficient computer skills, including data entry. Qualifications: Minimum of 3+ years of prior warehouse supervisory/managerial experience. Dispatch experience. Dock supervision experience. Familiarity with Smart Turn or TMW software a plus. Experience in Warehouse Management and LTL dispatch. Knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements. Education and/or Experience Required: Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent. Some college preferred.
