Inventory Control Area Manager (Weekends)
Position Overview: If you thrive in a fast-paced distribution environment and have a sharp eye for detail, this is your opportunity to lead the charge in inventory accuracy and operational excellence. As the Inventory Control Area Manager, you will oversee audit and cycle count teams, champion inventory integrity, and work cross‑functionally to resolve discrepancies and minimize shrink. You’ll dig deep into data, uncover root causes, and drive improvements across multiple departments and shifts. With a focus on compliance, SOX controls, and continuous training, this role is perfect for a proactive, analytical leader who’s ready to collaborate, influence, and make a measurable impact on the business.
Shift Weekend Shift (Friday - Sunday 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
Base Pay Range $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
Key Responsibilities
Supervise audit errors, identify root causes, and monitor audit status for management awareness.
Manage employee resources through hiring, training, evaluation, coaching, and termination.
Supervise research in the cycle count department and identify root causes, communicating findings to management.
Deliver necessary training to associates in support roles within the operation as required.
Facilitate projects, monitor daily inventory adjustments, and support implementation of KPIs and internal controls.
Provide daily and weekly updates to Operations and IC management of any ongoing systemic or operational issues by presenting findings and steps taken for corrective action.
Review and align accuracy audits with current processes, implementing adjustments for financial errors.
Engage management for immediate attention to escalated issues, ensuring compliance with policies.
Collaborate with departments to resolve discrepancies, providing necessary training to support roles.
Implement Key Performance Indicators, Internal Controls, and Record Retention for SOX compliance.
Process cycle count variances, complete end‑of‑cycle procedures, and ensure compliance with SOX controls, confirming all SOX control files are up to date.
Collaborate with IT, DC, finance, receiving control, and other work groups to seek assistance in research and problem‑solving activities.
Proactively identify and report systemic and operational issues to prevent situations that could lead to the loss of company assets.
Address and resolve any system issues (e.g., failed messaging) with the appropriate business partners.
Drive inventory accuracy and shrink improvement through analysis and execution of processes and adjustments to DC and Store inventory.
Facilitate scheduled recurring meetings with the Operations team to discuss building accuracy issues and opportunities impacting the DC shortages.
Communicate verbally or in writing all receiving errors, Store discrepancy, and chargeback issues to appropriate levels of management with possible solutions.
Monitor all key functions and reports, as assigned, related to Receiving Freight & Compliance to ensure they are accurate and timely.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience.
4+ years’ experience leading in a high‑volume distribution environment.
Strong understanding of audit, distribution, and inventory control procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Proven problem‑solving abilities, analytical skills, and excellent arithmetic skills.
Strong attention to detail, follow‑through skills, and effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and as a team, with flexibility to shift priorities.
Working knowledge of WMS and Dematic/Invata (preferred).
Experience with report‑writing database tools (plus).
Ability to read and interpret necessary policies and procedures to perform updates and operate systems within the Distribution Center.
Flexible schedule availability and ability to access all areas of the Distribution Center, including mezzanine platforms.
Ability to lift and move boxes weighing 40 lbs. or more and stand for extended periods.
Bi‑lingual (plus).
