Survey Manager – Salt Lake City
David Evans and Associates, Inc. invites applications for a Survey Manager in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role focuses on managing survey crews and office staff to deliver control, boundary, topography, ALTA, right‑of‑way, and construction surveying services for transportation projects. The position utilizes cutting‑edge technology, including terrestrial, GPS, 3D laser scanning, and hydrographic surveying.
What You’ll Do
Lead and support the SLC survey team in delivering technical work.
Ensure project managers have the technical resources needed for successful project delivery.
Act as project manager or task leader when required.
Learn and implement client standards and expectations.
Identify new business development opportunities.
Provide input on scope, schedule, and project cost proposals.
Manage performance for group members and administer time, expense, and training approvals.
Recruit and retain staff.
Guarantee excellence in project execution for on‑time, on‑budget deliverables.
Collaborate with the Regional Transportation and Land Development Group to provide resources for current and future projects.
Provide design leadership and guidance; review documents for compliance.
Adhere to firmwide tools, processes, and policies, including project accounting and quality requirements.
Write proposals, develop and manage budgets and schedules.
What You Bring Required Qualifications
Professional Land Surveyor license in the United States.
Strong project management and client communication skills.
8+ years of experience in the land survey field.
Proficiency with CAD and land surveying software (Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads) and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Land Surveyor license in Utah.
Familiarity with state and county mapping requirements.
