group is seeking a
Project Surveyor
in
Salt Lake City .
At DEA, we are dedicated to utilizing cutting‑edge technology to deliver exceptional service to our clients. This position offers exposure to both traditional and emerging geospatial tools while working on a wide variety of exciting projects.
What You'll Do Key Responsibilities
Manage survey projects independently, from start to finish
Communicate effectively with clients to understand and address project needs
Apply knowledge of Utah state and county mapping requirements
Ensure compliance with UDOT survey standards
Collaborate with DEA staff and clients on diverse projects
Mentor and coach junior survey staff (preferred experience)
What You Bring Required Qualifications
Licensed Utah Professional Land Surveyor (PLS), or ability to obtain license within one year if licensed out of state
Minimum of 5 years of relevant surveying experience
Proven ability to self‑manage projects and maintain strong client relationships
Experience working with both public and private sector clients
Familiarity with Utah state and county mapping requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience directing field and office survey crews
Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach junior staff within the survey profession
Strong computer skills with CAD and land surveying software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Leica, and Trimble
