The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for the Administrative Associate role in the College of Natural Sciences. This full‑time, Non‑Exempt position will begin on Jan 05, 2026.
Purpose Assist CNS Honors & Scholarships in financial planning, purchasing, event coordination, supervision of student employees and recruitment, and to advance our core mission of fostering wellness, belonging, and success for all students.
Responsibilities
Manage purchasing, payments, and office functions for CNS Honors Center.
Manage events for CNS Honors Center, including scheduling, budgeting, expenses, vendor relations, customer service for all guests, and assist student organizations with funding and logistics.
Work with the CNS Honors Center director on budget planning, track all expenditures, monitor accounts and ensure proper use of funds.
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise student employees.
Review CNS Honors Center program applications and assist in recruiting efforts.
Other duties as assigned, including supporting special projects and staffing events within CNS.
Required Qualifications
5 years of clerical experience with a High School Diploma, OR 1 year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level with a Bachelor’s Degree.
Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft products, strong oral and written communication skills, detail‑oriented, and ability to prioritize tasks over the short‑ and long‑term landscapes.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with event coordination.
Supervisory experience.
Experience with UT‑Austin tools used for budget management or other budget management tools.
Salary $45,000 + depending on qualifications.
Working Conditions
Environmental Demands: may work around standard office conditions.
Physical Tasks: Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
