Responsibilities The Public Safety Operations Center Manager is responsible for the oversight, planning, and daily operations of the PSOC. The Manager will serve as the FCIC Agency Coordinator, ensuring departmental compliance with FCIC, NCIC, and NLETS policies and certifying that all operators of these terminals meet regulatory guidance. As the section training liaison, the Manager will oversee the PSOC Training and Certification Program, coordinating with the Florida Department of Health and test schedules for PSOC personnel. The role may also function as a Police Dispatcher when required.

Administrative duties include maintaining required documentation, formulating communication procedures, developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures, and ensuring necessary staffing and equipment are available. The Manager will supervise, evaluate, and discipline PSOC staff as appropriate and assess workflow efficiency, recommending enhancements that align with departmental priorities.

Additional duties involve managing PSOC scheduling and time‐sheet accuracy, reviewing leave requests, coordinating with IT staff and university partners for system maintenance, activating the mass notification system during emergencies, and providing courteous customer support to the University Community and public.

Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent with five years of experience (or comparable post‑high‑school education) is required. The following qualifications are essential:

0911 Public Safety Telecommunicator Certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire, per Florida Statute 401.465.

Valid state of Florida or Georgia driver’s license, or ability to obtain one prior to hire.

Florida 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator Certification is mandatory. Candidates must maintain certification per F.S. 401.465.
