Eastern Washington University seeks a skilled and team-oriented executive assistant and Clery compliance officer. The role involves high‑level administrative support, schedule management, travel coordination, budget monitoring, and compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act.
Job Summary The Executive Administrative Assistant provides confidential support to command staff, prioritizes communications, coordinates travel and expense reports, composes confidential correspondence, and monitors departmental budgets. The Clery Compliance Officer ensures university compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act, manages public records, collects crime statistics, prepares, publishes, and distributes the Annual Security Report, and administers the federal Campus Safety Survey.
Responsibilities
Provide high‑level, confidential administrative support and schedule management for command staff.
Prioritize emails, phone calls, and sensitive matters; coordinate travel arrangements and expense reports.
Compose confidential correspondence and manage departmental budget projections and monitoring.
Manage public records and retention/destruction of police records.
Ensure compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act and related regulations.
Collect crime statistics and prepare, publish, and distribute the Annual Security Report.
Administer the federal Campus Safety Survey.
Collaborate with internal and external offices for Clery compliance and reporting.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, criminal justice, emergency management, or related field.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Proficient computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and databases.
Experience tracking departmental ledger expenditures and running budget reports.
Ability to coordinate and track grant expenditures and monitor department budgets.
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to recommend corrective actions related to budget.
Demonstrated responsive and flexible approach supporting universal access for students, faculty, staff, and the public.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience complying with the Clery Act requirements.
Advanced Clery Act training.
Familiarity with Title IX.
Three or more years of work experience within a higher‑education institution.
Conditions of Employment
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship not available.
Background check required prior to employment.
Must comply with EWU Immunization Policy 602‑02; waivers available for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs.
Administrative exempt position covered by EWU Policy 406‑01.
Required training: Workplace Belonging training (available June 1, 2024; due March 31, 2026); additional Canvas coursework after start.
Salary and Benefits Salary range: $68,227–$84,720 (dependent on education, experience, and skills).
