High School Activities Director 26-27 The Moniteau County R-1 School District (California, MO) is currently accepting applications for the position of High School Activities Director for the 2026-2027 school year. This will be an 11-month position. The Activities Director at California High School provides leadership, coordination, and oversight for the school’s extracurricular programs, including athletics, clubs, and student activities. This position is responsible for promoting student participation, ensuring compliance with MSHSAA regulations, fostering sportsmanship, and supporting a positive school culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee all high school extracurricular activities, including athletic programs, clubs, and student organizations.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive activities calendar and coordinate facility usage.
Promote balanced participation, student leadership, and academic eligibility.
Ensure all athletic programs comply with MSHSAA rules, district policies, and state regulations.
Coordinate schedules, transportation, officials, and event supervision.
Supervise and evaluate head and assistant coaches in collaboration with the principal.
Support the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of coaches.
Student Safety & Sportsmanship
Promote student safety, proper supervision, and positive conduct at all events.
Foster a culture of sportsmanship, citizenship, and respect among students, staff, and spectators.
Address disciplinary issues related to activities in collaboration with the administration.
Communication & Community Relations
Serve as a liaison between the school, families, coaches, community members, and the district.
Communicate activity expectations, schedules, and updates through appropriate platforms.
Represent California High School in conference meetings and community events.
Budget & Resources
Assist in the development and management of the activities budget.
Monitor expenditures and work with booster clubs and community partners in accordance with district guidelines.
Oversee equipment inventory, maintenance, and purchasing.
Event Management
Coordinate and supervise events, including athletic contests and school-wide activities.
Ensure proper staffing, security, ticketing, and facility preparation.
Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Athletic/Activities Administration or 7-12 Building Administration from an accredited university, with a minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience. Effective leadership skills and experiences. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible hours as required by activity schedules.
