Employment type: Full-time, Regular, 40 hours per week, First Shift.

Position Overview Ohio State University seeks an outstanding scientist for a faculty appointment in the Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology. The position focuses on innate immunology and immuno‑oncology with emphasis on inflammation‑associated cancers. Applicants are expected to build a rigorous, externally funded research program, contribute to clinical care, and engage in teaching and mentorship within a multidisciplinary cancer research environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Conceptualize, plan, and conduct research studies; develop grant proposals and obtain extramural funding, including NIH R01 or equivalent.

Write and publish research in high‑quality, peer‑reviewed journals; present findings at national and international conferences.

Instruct and mentor junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents, and fellow trainees; participate on departmental, college, and university committees.

Requirements and Qualifications

PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant field.

Established record of research in innate immunity and inflammation.

Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.

Current, active extramural grant funding equivalent to NIH R01.

Qualified for an academic appointment at Assistant, Associate, or Professor level; rank and salary commensurate with previous training and experience.
