This position is open to candidates for full‑time tenure‑track appointments at all ranks.

Position Overview The Center for Innate Immunity and Inflammation (CIII), Pelotonia Institute for Immuno‑Oncology and The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, OH, seeks outstanding scientists in innate immunology with emphasis in immuno‑oncology, including inflammation‑associated cancer. Applicants with interests in dendritic cell biology, innate immunity of the central nervous system, or translational innate immune research to improve cancer treatment outcomes are encouraged.

Applicants must hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree, post‑doctoral experience, excellent communication skills, and a record of productivity in innate immunology. Assistant Professor candidates should demonstrate a substantial trajectory toward a rigorous, externally‑funded research program. Associate Professor and Professor candidates should have a national scientific reputation, current research funding, and a history of mentorship and leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities

Conceptualize, plan, design, implement, and conduct research studies; develop and write grant proposals to secure extramural funding to support the research program; obtain and maintain NIH R01 or equivalent funding.

Write and publish research in high‑quality, peer‑reviewed, scientific journals; present findings at national and international conferences; develop a national and international scholarly reputation.

Instruct and mentor junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents, and fellow trainees; participate in department, college, and university committees and initiatives.

Requirements

PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field.

Established record of research in innate immunity and inflammation.

Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.

Current, active extramural grant funding equivalent to NIH R01.

Qualify for appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level; academic rank and salary commensurate with training and experience.
