Faculty - Department of Surgery, Division of Thoracic Surgery (Open Rank/Track) The Ohio State University (OSU) Department of Surgery is recruiting a nationally recognized basic scientist to join the Thoracic Oncology Program. This individual should have an established record of research as evidenced by publications and an active research program. This position is being recruited at the Associate Professor or Professor level.

Duties and Responsibilities

Conceptualizes, plans, designs, implements, and conducts research studies; develops and writes grant proposals to seek and obtain extramural funding; obtains and maintains NIH R01 or equivalent funding.

Writes and publishes research in high quality peer reviewed, scientific journals; attends and presents research at national and international scientific conferences; develops national and international scholarly reputation.

Instructs and mentors junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees; participates in department, college and university committees and initiatives.

Requirements

PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field.

Established record of basic science or translational research relevant to the study of lung cancer.

Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in scientific, peer-reviewed journals (preferred).

Current, active extramural grant funding (equivalent to NIH R01).

Qualify for academic appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience.

Location & Position Type Twelfth Ave, 395 W (0356). Regular position. Shift: First Shift. Scheduled Hours: 40.
