Responsibilities
The Intake Counselor, under the supervision of the Director of Admissions, interviews and assesses potential patients and inquiry callers.
The Intake Counselor works with the Business Office regarding patient financial data, as well as with the UR Department for the certification of patients admitted.
Initiates the referral and admission process by determining appropriate level of care needs in conjunction with the physician/provider.
Responsible for initiating and maintaining communication with referral sources.
Shifts & Compensation
Evening and Overnight shifts: 5 eight-hour shifts per week.
Per Diem staff needed for all shifts.
Sign‑On Bonus of $5,000 offered for full‑time hires.

Located in Shippensburg, PA, our 112‑bed behavioral health facility offers acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults, as well as an adolescent inpatient psychiatric program for youth ages 13‑17. We also operate two substance use disorder outpatient offices in Carlisle and Chambersburg. Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or another related Human Services field, OR a registered nurse with an active nursing license in the state of Pennsylvania.
Experience: 2‑3 years in the area of substance abuse/psychiatric treatment programs, including experience in intake/admissions and managed care preferred.
License: Not required unless candidate is a nurse, in which case an active nursing license in Pennsylvania is required.
