Position Licensed Practical Nurse – Charge Nurse (LPN). The LPN Charge Nurse plans, organizes and assists in providing direct and indirect resident care following established policies and procedures. Orients, instructs and supervises personnel.
Responsibilities
Assess and implement interventions for resident care based on nursing standards and state, federal, and company requirements.
Make daily rounds to see all residents to ascertain condition and comfort.
Initiate procedures to protect residents from injury and infection.
Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) and/or RN with developing, implementing, and evaluating plans of care, including spiritual, emotional, psychosocial, and functional factors.
Encourage and assist with restorative care in self‑care and group activities.
Monitor nursing personnel compliance with nursing policies and procedures and competency of clinical skills; evaluate nursing staff performance with direction from the DON.
Communicate with the physician as indicated by resident needs or status and assure follow‑through; maintain hand‑off communications with oncoming shift regarding resident care needs.
Oversee direct care staff and ensure staff complete tasks and cares as assigned.
Speak, read and write English in an understandable manner.
Apply principles of basic general math.
Qualifications Licensed as an LPN with state licensure. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, supervise staff and coordinate care across shifts. Strong communication and math skills. Demonstrated commitment to compassionate resident care.
Seniority Level Entry level.
