The Role You’ll Contribute The role of the Ultrasonographer is to perform diagnostic imaging examinations on patients utilizing the skills and equipment specific to their profession. The Ultrasonographer is responsible for performing high quality examinations according to established protocols while rendering safe and compassionate care to the patient.
The Value You’ll Bring To The Team
Performs various ultrasound imaging procedures as well as Doppler studies.
Notes velocities, measures structures, and documents adequate clinical history as needed for accurate interpretation by the radiologist.
Coordinates equipment service, preventative maintenance and sterilizes transducers as needed.
Maintains knowledge of ultrasound physics as well as cross‑sectional and vascular anatomy and Doppler techniques in order to perform independent procedures to radiologist's standards.
The Expertise And Experiences You’ll Need To Succeed
Associate degree
Minimum 5 years' hospital‑based clinical ultrasound experience
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). RVT and at least one additional advanced certification.
Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
