Key Responsibilities

Ensure total operation complies with state and federal regulations (e.g., FDA‑approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP) to maintain production standards and facility compliance.

Maintain high level of customer service and positive donor experience in line with company values and culture.

Maintain cleanliness of work area to ensure a clean and professional environment.

Review and confirm donor identification and maintain donor confidentiality per SOPs.

Set up and prepare all equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures.

Label and ensure each unit and sample is labeled accurately.

Execute venipunctures and plasma collection, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Operate automated plasmapheresis machines, including responding to all machine alarms and alerts, donor adverse events, documenting exceptions.

Monitor donor conditions and employ techniques to ensure donor comfort, safety, and plasma product quality.

Maintain proper ratio to ensure donor safety and product quality.

Disconnect donor and manage disposal of biohazard waste and contaminated equipment per safety protocols, cleaning spills and properly disposing biohazardous waste.

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly calibration/maintenance of automated plasmapheresis machines and replace equipment as needed.

Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of necessary records, including Plasmapheresis Machine Logs.

Report all unsafe situations and conditions to management.

Maintain and stock adequate inventory; replenish supplies on plasma carts.

Drive training efficiencies to ensure timeliness and compliance.

Troubleshoot machine alarms/alerts and perform QC routinely (daily/monthly).

Perform other job‑related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Any specific certification or licensing based on State requirements.

Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health‑care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Completed documentation of training appropriate for duties, prior to performing duties independently.

Strong customer service skills.

Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocol.

Basic computer knowledge and skills.

Ability to make accurate and complete documentation.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Function effectively in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Demonstrated consistency and reliability (good attendance, punctuality, full effort throughout shift, flexibility with assigned schedule).

Availability to work daytime, evening, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts frequently.

Ability to perform venipuncture.

Effective communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to thirty‑five pounds.

Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel.

Ability to utilize all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Occupational exposure to blood‑borne pathogens.

Ability to view a video display terminal less than 18 inches away from face for extended periods.

Ability to work up to four hours at a time.

Ability to work in an environment with temperature of –40 °C per SOP.

Ability to perform precise tasks requiring repetitive small motor skills, such as drawing blood for diagnostic tests.

Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
