Young Adult: 18yrs. – 45yrs. Middle Aged Adult: 45yrs. – 65yrs. Late Adulthood: Over 65yrs. Job Responsibilities
Collect, analyze and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs. Explain pre-testing, testing and post-testing procedures to patients. Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to ensure proper functioning. Apply electrodes and sensors according to published standards. Perform physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signal quality. Perform routine positive airway procedure (PAP) mask fitting. Follow procedural protocols for MSLT, MWT, parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration. Follow “lights out” procedures to establish baseline values. Perform polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality. Perform HSAT both with and without effort monitoring. Document routine observations and significant events to facilitate scoring and interpretation. Implement appropriate interventions for patient safety and therapeutic interventions. Demonstrate knowledge to recognize and provide age specific care. Oversee and perform difficult and unusual procedures and therapeutic interventions. Score sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines. Generate accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical events. Perform routine and complex equipment care and maintenance. Evaluate sleep study related equipment inventory. Respond to study participant’s procedural-related inquiries by providing appropriate information. Comply with BRPT Standards of Conduct. Core Responsibilities
Respond appropriately and immediately in emergency situations. Maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Ensure compliance with regulations to maintain accreditation and licensure. Comply with the Cabell Huntington Hospital attendance and tardiness policy. Complete all CHH and department specific requirements in the prior calendar year.
