Job Overview Position located at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Level 1 Trauma Center's Outpatient Surgery Center, averaging 40 cases per day. The mission is to provide the highest‑quality care to patients requiring surgical intervention, both during preparation for surgery and recovery from anesthesia. Nursing staff supports a wide variety of service lines—Otolaryngology, Plastics, General Surgery, Urology, Gynecology, Endocrinology, Orthopedics, and Vascular—with full support from department‑based anesthesiologists. The center is a recognized Robotic Center of Excellence.
Employment Type Full‑time, Day Shift.
Compensation Pay Range: $35.64 – $49.53 per hour, depending on experience and licensure date.
Responsibilities
Perform both scrub and circulating roles across nine operating rooms.
Provide holistic assessments of patients considering physical, psychosocial, emotional, cultural, and spiritual factors.
Apply critical thinking to gather and analyze patient information and respond appropriately to patient situations.
Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized care plans using evidence‑based interventions and standards of care.
Identify patient and family education needs; develop and deliver teaching plans using teach‑back methodology.
Create a positive patient experience environment and advocate for patient safety.
Communicate accurate, timely, concise information verbally and in writing, including EMR documentation.
Maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues and other disciplines, approaching conflict constructively and contributing to resolution.
Required Education & Licensure
Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
BSN degree required or agreement to obtain BSN within five years of hire.
Current Michigan Nursing License.
BLS certification.
Required Skills & Abilities Knowledge of nursing theory and age‑specific needs; strong interpersonal skills; critical thinking; meticulous attention to detail; ability to concentrate in dynamic surgical settings.
