**Hourly range:**The hourly rate range for this position is $38.69 - $49.98. Minimum Certifications: Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification required from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
Minimum Experience: 3 years
Addtional Experience Requirements Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum work experience
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Certifications: ASCP issued Immunohistochemistry (QHIC) certification
Preferred Experience: 5 years

https://wd5.myworkday.com/usc/d/inst/1$9925/9925$137824.htmldSpecific Job-Related Duties:Performs high complexity testing and advanced histopathology procedures, and staining techniques by accurately identifying the proper control tissues and antibodies to be used.* Offers expertise in all areas of the Immunohistochemistry Laboratory to include, but not limited to: H&E, special stains, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Electron microscopy (EM), immunofluorescent (IF), and CISH staining.* Ensures that all required solutions and chemicals are properly prepared, and that automated laboratory equipment is in working order.* Serves as the resource for coordination of research projects, test validation, and clinical test implementation activities in the department.* Develops new Immunohistochemistry (IHC) antibody protocols.* Responsible for Quality Metrics to improve the value of patient care.* Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable state and federal regulatory agencies.The Keck School of Medicine Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is one of the largest pathology departments in the United States.
