January 20, 2026 – May 19, 2026 – Tuesday 5:30 pm–8:20 pm & Thursday 5:30 pm–9:15 pm

Summer 2026: In‑Person Courses – morning, afternoon, and evening

Standard Hours Flexibility in schedule is required for day, night or weekend classes as needed.

Salary $45.00 per class hour contracted.

Position Summary Part‑time faculty are integral to NWTC’s staff, helping us provide all learners with the highest quality learning opportunities when, where, and how they want it. Upon successful submission of your application, you will be considered for future part‑time faculty opportunities and your application will be kept as a potential candidate.

Essential Functions

Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction and assessment of learning outcomes.

Utilize engaging instructional strategies and methodologies that foster student success in and outside the classroom.

Maintain accurate student records and communication.

Advise and support students as a mentor and role model, being accessible outside scheduled classroom time.

Provide educational leadership and work effectively with faculty, administration, and campus support staff.

Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and required licensure for accreditation.

Comply with College policies and practices related to instruction, assessment, and delivery.

Complete additional duties as needed.

Additional Duties And Responsibilities

Commit to all required course contact hours for each class assignment as scheduled.

Maintain curriculum rigor aligned with state requirements.

Course content: history, morphology, physiology, nutritional growth requirements, metabolism, methods of identification, disease‑causing microorganisms, prevention, treatment, control mechanisms, host defense mechanisms, and applications of immunology.

Manage the instructional process, including preparation, attendance records, assessment, grading, and accessible communication.

Post final grades within 72 hours of course completion.

Deliver courses in traditional and alternate modes: weekdays, evenings, weekends in classrooms or labs.

Maintain electronic communication with students and staff via NWTC email and Canvas.

Collaborate effectively with Microbiology faculty and department team members.

Minimum Qualifications And Work Experience

Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate/undergraduate credits in Microbiology or a related subfield; transcripts must show at least 9 credits in Microbiology and 9 credits in a related discipline.

Eligible disciplines include Microbiology, Genetics, Immunology.

Minimum one year (2,000 hours) of paid occupational experience outside education, preferably in a hospital or medical setting focused on Microbiology/Immunology.

Team‑work ability.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Canvas knowledge is beneficial.
