Field Biologist
Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Experience: Entry‑level. Applicant must obtain an Applicator’s License within 30 days of hire.
Employment Type: Full‑time during the peak season (40+ hours per week). Seasonal work may extend into winter for skill maintenance.
Pay Range: $42,000‑$45,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Position Summary New Field Biologists receive on‑the‑job training to develop the necessary skills and continuing education opportunities. The role demands a minimum of 40+ hours per week during the peak season.
Core Responsibilities
Manage customer’s aquatic resources through scheduled seasonal visits.
Engage in thorough data entry, processing, and detailed information on aquatic management.
Analyze customer needs and provide technical support for sold products.
Collaborate with industry partners to develop solutions for customer projects and requests.
Perform seasonal installation and removal of pond aeration equipment.
Maintain fleet vehicles and application equipment.
Essential Duties
Focus heavily on commercial aquatic applications within the pond management department.
Develop and initiate management plans for clients.
Assess client lakes and/or ponds and initiate the appropriate management protocol.
Conduct water and sediment sampling.
Perform aquatic plant management and identification.
Install aeration systems and decorative fountains.
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree or higher in Biology, Water Resources, Fisheries, or related coursework, or equivalent work experience.
Well organized, highly motivated, and able to work well with a team of professionals.
Current driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to drive a combination truck/trailer (non‑CDL) and operate motor vehicles for periods of time.
Special Conditions of Employment
Obtain an Applicator’s License within 30 days of employment. Training materials will be provided to the successful applicant.
Physical Requirements
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Bend at waist or knees and lift arms at/over shoulder.
Work extended hours in all weather conditions.
Work out of small boats and be a strong swimmer.
