Registered Nurse – Hawthorn Children's Psychiatric Hospital

Hawthorn Children's Psychiatric Hospital provides specialized care for children and adolescents diagnosed with mental illness. We are looking for an energetic Registered Nurse who is passionate about helping children with mental illness maximize their potential.
Professional Role Inspired by the Sanctuary Model, this RN position is accountable for serving as a member of the medical treatment team. The RN reviews medical records, observes the provision of medical care, coordinates assessments from other disciplines, handles incident reporting and investigation, and plans discharge in a hospital setting. Additionally, the RN oversees and reviews the work of LPNs, nursing assistants, and other technical personnel. The RN may provide public‑health services such as assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and/or case management; or may supervise other RN(s) on a shift. Some RN positions may also focus on quality improvement activities, analysing data and trends of specific health indicators to recommend improvement measures.
Qualifications
Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
0–3 years of experience as a registered nurse.
Possession of a current license to practice as an RN in the State of Missouri or in accordance with Missouri's Nurse Licensure Compact.
Knowledge of current professional nursing theory, practices, and standards.
Ability to administer detailed therapeutic prescriptions under general professional supervision.
Ability to supervise, evaluate, and instruct professional and paraprofessional nursing staff.
