Employment Details
Full time, 40 hours per week. Shift: 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm. Minimum rate of pay: $30.13 per hour. $8,000 sign‑on bonus.
Location Trinity Health, Ann Arbor, MI. Department: Core Lab.
Required Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science.
May consider a bachelor’s degree in science with relevant work experience in a comparable laboratory setting. Proof of transcripts must be submitted at time of application.
Relevant work experience in a medical laboratory if MLS/MT degree is not obtained.
Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) – ASCP or NCLS certification preferred.
What You Will Do
Record and enter laboratory computer results; advise supervisor of spurious, unusual or highly abnormal results before release.
Report results of stat tests and highly abnormal or unexpected results in a timely manner according to established policies.
Compare test results with previous patient test results when indicated, notifying supervisor or pathologist of unusual fluctuations.
Perform required quality control, equipment maintenance, calibration, and operation of laboratory equipment used in the assigned section.
Notify appropriate personnel of problems such as unacceptable specimens, equipment malfunctions, and quality control aberrations in accordance with department policy.
Prepare standards, reagents, and other materials used in testing.
Contact nursing unit or client office personnel regarding results and clarification of requests or routine problems.
