Shift: 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm
Location: Trinity Health Ann Arbor
Status: Full time, 40 hours per week
Minimum rate of pay: $30.13
Sign‑on Bonus: $8,000
Required Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science (or an equivalent bachelor’s degree in science with relevant laboratory work experience).
Relevant laboratory experience required if an MLS/MT degree has not been earned.
Preferred certifications: ASCP Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or NCLS.
Responsibilities
Record and/or enter laboratory computer results of tests performed and advise supervisor of spurious, unusual or highly abnormal results before release.
Report results of stat and highly abnormal or unexpected tests in a timely manner, following established policies and procedures.
Compare test results with previous patient results when indicated, alerting supervisor or pathologist to unusual fluctuations.
Perform required quality control, equipment maintenance, calibration, and operation of laboratory equipment pertinent to assigned tests.
Notify appropriate personnel of problems such as unacceptable specimens, equipment malfunctions, and quality control aberrations, in accordance with departmental policy.
Prepare standards, reagents, and other materials used in testing.
Contact nursing units or client office personnel regarding results and for clarification of requests or routine problems.
