SURGICAL SERVICES CLINICAL RESOURCE COORDINATOR - Days Orlando Health Watson Clinic Lakeland Highlands Hospital – a state‑of‑the‑art, seven‑story, multi‑specialty hospital will serve as a vital 550,000 square foot healthcare hub opening in Summer 2026 at 4000 Lakeland Highlands Road, Lakeland, FL.

Position Summary As the Surgical Services Clinical Resource Coordinator, you will collaborate with surgery scheduling and leadership teams, surgical supply department, sterile processing department, charge specialist team, and supply chain to ensure the proper surgical supplies and equipment are available and accurately charged and charted. You will demonstrate a working knowledge of specialized instrumentation and equipment required for a variety of specialty procedures and the competency to operate all specialty instruments, supplies, and equipment.

Responsibilities

Timely procure and allocate limited supply resources critical to surgery, collaborating with other facilities.

Collaborate with Surgical Materials Management to assure point‑of‑use contractual compliance on all non‑stock items and services.

Resolve supply issues related to invoicing, product handling requirements, surgical documentation, and product integrity.

Assist in ordering and stocking specialty supplies under the direction of the management team and department guidelines.

Participate in meetings with surgical clinical staff, materials management, and physicians to discuss utilization of products, shared resources, and new technologies.

Work with supply/business managers to identify product, equipment, service, and utilization saving opportunities.

Utilize EPIC to monitor and track the disposition of non‑stock items specific to product, physician, and patient.

Participate in priorities of the various steps associated with surgical procedures.

Prepare and conduct technical performance‑oriented training related to specialty services and equipment.

Assist with process improvement activities and contribute to organizational effectiveness.

Serve as a resource expert.

Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and other standards.

Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Work with surgery scheduling to allocate shared resources on future bookings and ensure accurate case cards.

Assist with preference card building for current and new surgeons as needed.

Receive case tag audits and work with surgical staff to ensure accurate documentation.

Assist the charge management team with all issues related to posting charges for supply items and services.

Participate in process improvement activities such as First Case on Time Starts and Turnover Time.

Work with vendors to arrange availability of needed equipment and instrumentation.

Coordinate vendor training and stay up to date on new products.

Assist in departmental needs in a Surgical Technologist III role.

Complete all mandatory Orlando Health education.

Assume responsibility for professional development and continuing education.

Qualifications Education/Training

Graduate of a surgical tech or nursing program. Formal clinical training in surgery is required via Nursing or Surgical Technology.

Licensure/Certification

Commensurate with clinical training (i.e. CST, RN).

Maintain current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Experience

Four (4) years progressive healthcare experience in a Surgery department with extensive knowledge of medical products and vendors.

Computer application experience including Affinity, Microsoft Office, Lawson and other applicable corporate software.

A bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration or related field may substitute for up to two (2) years of required experience in addition to the requirement above.
