Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Integrative Biology & Pharmacology

position.

The Department of Integrative Biology and Pharmacology (IBP) focuses on the cell biology, physiology and pharmacology of cell regulation and communication. Major research themes include the molecular mechanisms and spatiotemporal dynamics of membrane signaling, intracellular and metabolic signaling, the biology and physiology of cell‑cell interactions, and the use of computational, structural and systems approaches to decipher signaling networks.

Position Summary A biomedical postdoc provides an opportunity for early‑career researchers to gain valuable experience, develop independent research skills, and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge in their field.

Key Accountabilities

Plans and conducts experiments, analyzes data, and prepares publications describing results.

Assists in training and mentoring of lab personnel, including graduate students and other trainees.

Reads and evaluates literature.

Possesses interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels.

Has strong written and oral communication skills.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctoral/terminal degree in an appropriate field.

Published at least one first‑author or co‑author paper in a high‑impact journal.

Capable of independently conducting molecular and cell biology experiments as well as mouse studies.

Cancer research background is preferred.

Strong motivation, independence, and a self‑driven work ethic.

Physical and Residency Requirements All laboratory‑based work may exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or up to 10 pounds frequently. Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
