Summary The recreational therapist is the full performance level of work responsible for implementing therapeutic recreational activities for all psychiatry inpatients and PHP patients under general supervision. This includes program planning, treatment implementation and documentation. The therapist will function as a member of the interdisciplinary team to deliver an integrated plan of care.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in recreation therapy or recreation from an accredited college or university. Master's Degree preferred
Pediatric and psychiatric experience preferred
Experience/Training in Experiential Therapy preferred
1 year of experience performing recreational therapy work in the treatment of patients required
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist preferred
BLS or must be completed within 60 days of start date
CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Children's Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date
