Clinical Pharmacy Specialist - Malignant Hematology Oncology Join Moffitt Cancer Center as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (CPS) and contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer by delivering expert pharmaceutical care to patients with malignant hematologic malignancies.

Position Highlights The CPS practices at the top of their license, leveraging a high level of expertise to recommend, design, implement, monitor, and modify pharmaceutical care plans for optimal patient outcomes. Extensive clinical experience in Malignant Hematology, medication safety, formulary management, pathway/guideline development, policy implementation, oncology reimbursement and coverage, and clinical research is required.

The Ideal Candidate

Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) certification in the specialty practice area.

Relevant work experience as a clinical pharmacist in the area of specialization.

Responsibilities

Oversee safe and appropriate medication prescribing, dispensing, administering, and monitoring; provide clinical pharmaceutical care to optimize drug therapy for cancer patients.

Perform medication order review, clarification, and verification for completeness and appropriateness.

Develop, interpret, and provide medication‑related information and education for pharmacists, providers, nurses, and other healthcare personnel.

Coordinate medication therapy education and counseling for patients and caregivers.

Lead development, implementation, and maintenance of medication‑related guidelines, policies, and standards.

Manage the medication use process to improve workflow, quality, and safety while ensuring cost‑effective use of resources.

Participate in multidisciplinary rounds on malignant hematology inpatient services and support outpatient clinics on a rotation basis.

Credentials and Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.

State of Florida pharmacist license required.

Completion of PGY‑2 residency in the specialty area or PGY‑1 residency with at least 2 years clinical practice experience in the specialty area; alternatively, 4 years of clinical practice experience in the specialty area.

Sign‑on bonus: up to $25,000.

Full‑time, varies Monday‑Friday with optional 7‑on/7‑off inpatient scheduling.
